The role

Cowran Estate Services often carries day-to-day responsibility for demanding work packages on behalf of major contractors. The working team leader turns the drawing, RAMS and programme into a safe, properly resourced daily operation—and works alongside the team when that is what delivery requires.

What you will own

  • Own the daily methodology and communicate the RAMS so the crew understands the work and controls.
  • Plan people, plant, materials, tooling and access before they become site delays.
  • Read drawings, set out or coordinate setting out, and identify technical conflicts early.
  • Lead safety, quality, environmental controls, briefings and the day-to-day project record.
  • Coordinate constructively with the client, principal contractor, suppliers and other trades.
  • Remain a working leader who can step into practical delivery without losing control of the wider operation.

What we need

  • A valid CSCS card and substantial civil-engineering or groundworks experience.
  • Demonstrable experience leading a crew and taking responsibility for the complete workface.
  • Confidence with drawings, RAMS, materials, plant, programme and compliance records.
  • Calm, direct communication and the judgement to stop or change work when conditions demand it.
  • Availability for project-led hours: starts are commonly between 6am and 8am and finishes between 4pm and 8pm, depending on the project.

Useful advantages

  • SSSTS or a stronger current site-management qualification.
  • A UK driving licence.
  • Relevant plant tickets and experience across drainage, structures, coastal or environmental works.
